Timmy was running through the backyard when he stepped on something that went squish. Something that resembled a nose, or maybe an ear, was stuck to the bottom of his Keds.
“Oh my god!” he heard his sister shriek from behind the shed.
Turning the sharp corner, Timmy found his sister, holding a detached ear and a couple of fingers cupped in her palms. At her feet, a dead body lay, chained by the neck to a stake in the ground. Moaning, it’s other ear fell off.
“Timmy,” his sister said, “tell Mom that Karl is falling to pieces.”
Been a while since I’ve done a 100 Word Song, eh? Well, figured since I haven’t written about zombies in quite a while (last week is quite a while, right?) I’d write about a zombie that’s falling apart.
SAM chose Falling to Pieces by Faith No More. She also designed the logos/badges for Master Class and Leeroy the Robot. Cool song and a cool gal.

Hahahahaha. This is brilliantly funny.
Thanks, SAM.
How funny! Great take on the prompt!
Thank you, Mrs. Lance!
haha! That is funny. My friends call him Mr. Deana.
Oh, poor Karl…Falling to Pieces indeed
Hee hee
I may have laughed out loud. Love this! Great take on the prompt.
Thank you!
This is really great and funny!
Thank you!
hilarious interpretation. didn;t see it coming. well done!
I know it’s a departure from the song lyrics, but I had a feeling there would be a number of entries about depression this week. I figured this approach would at least make people smile.
no…this was well thought out. I liked the departure
I liked the misdirection. They find the body parts and we readers expect murder, especially when the sister shrieks. But no, the family’s zombie is falling apart!
Funny thing, when my kid (who is a huge fan of all things “zombie”) read this, he didn’t get that it was a zombie. LOL
I so love the posts where I actually find myself “LOLing” at the end!
