Five times. We’ve been here five times with this pair, he thought. Early February and no snow. He loved the snow and missed it, but nothing could be done.
As the day grew long, they began to arrive and he knew it was going to be a good night. It was loud and hot, food and drink was abundant.
And then the event started. He had waited all year for this.
For revenge.
For vindication.
It looked as if he might get it. It can down to the wire.
But no.
Revolution howled loudly as time ended, all four legs giving way as he flopped to the ground. Superbowl XLVI was over and the Patriots had lost again.
This week is a double whammy. Writing for two completely different prompts this week has a bit of a challenge. Lance and Leeroy’s 100 Word Song this week is The Beatles “Revolution” which was chosen by Barbara over at The Purple Moose Gazette. This is also a response to this week’s writing prompt at Studio 30 Plus, which was the picture of the dog.

What can I say other than LOVE it! And that photo is fantastic…stil smiling
Thanks!
You say you want a revolution! I can’t believe you made him a Patriots fan!!! Bwahahaha! That is so friggin funny!
It is NOT funny! My Pats lost to the Giants twice! Two times! *cries*
Awwwww, I’m sorry! Not!
At least your Patriots can make the Super Bowl when they have a good year. The last two times my Vikings should have gone (’98 & ’09) they fell a game short of even making it there.
I really like what you did with the double prompt. I was completely surprised by this being about the Super Bowl, although I should have seen it coming. After all, I knew you were a football fan and a Patriots fan.
Heh, heh. Glad to keep you guessing even though it was glaringly obvious to me. (and it’s not usually. Weird, I know.)
Love, love, love the photo! He is draped on the ground. Wonderful.
I loved the intensity that ends in humor. Ah, yes, the defeated will rise to fight another day. 100 word song and the Studio 30 prompts are BOTH things I do too rarely. I got in a 100 word song. But I just can’t do the dog right now. Too many Fudge memories.
The photo says it all… total dejection.
